FAQs

REGISTRATION CANCELLATIONS OR TRANSFERS

All deposits are non-refundable. Payments beyond the deposit are refundable until 90 days before the tour. Registrations are transferable for a $100 fee for the first guest and $50 for each additional guest in the same group. Contact Steve Franklin (steve.franklin@northpoint.org | 770-851-4525) or Carla White (carla.white@northpoint.org | 678-665-3601) with any questions.

Exceptions will be made for official airline travel bans or conflicts in Israel, which will allow a full refund.

LODGING

Pricing is based on double occupancy. Solo travelers will have their own room. Lodging rates in Israel are per person rather than per room, which increases the cost from $7,500 per person to $9,630 per person.

If you would like to add a roommate, please contact Steve Franklin (steve.franklin@northpoint.org | 770-851-4525) or Carla White (carla.white@northpoint.org | 678-665-3601) for assistance.

ADDING A ROOMMATE

You may add a roommate after you register, and it will lower your cost. Contact Steve Franklin (steve.franklin@northpoint.org | 770-851-4525) or Carla White (carla.white@northpoint.org | 678-665-3601) to assist you in updating your booking.

ADDITIONAL HOTEL NIGHTS

All hotels are included during the tour dates. If you wish to arrive early or stay longer, you must secure additional nights on your own. Many guests use hotels.com or booking.com. You assume all responsibility for bookings outside tour dates. If your flights are booked through Jackson Travel, they may be able to assist with hotel arrangements.

PASSPORTS AND TRAVEL DOCUMENTATION

A valid passport with an expiration date at least six months beyond the return date of the trip is required. There are no exceptions to this policy. Visitors to Israel must also obtain an ETA-IL permit. This is a quick, simple process for travelers from most countries. Click here to obtain your permit. We will also send a reminder email as we get closer to travel dates.

TRANSPORTATION

Transportation will be provided by deluxe air-conditioned buses with complimentary Wi-Fi. Ground transfers from the airport are included on the arrival day within the designated timeframe, and one group transfer is provided on departure day.

TRAVEL INSURANCE

Travel insurance is strongly recommended. Purchase within 14 days of booking your reservation for the best coverage. Travel insurance covers the land package; flight insurance is separate. Confirm whether your policy includes medical travel coverage. We recommend Travel Guard as a trusted option.

MEDICAL PREPARATIONS

No immunizations are required for travel to Israel. You may consult your doctor for personalized guidance. Notify your health insurance provider that you will be traveling internationally and confirm your coverage. Most standard over-the-counter medications are available locally.

WHAT TO BRING

We will email a list of recommended items and clothing as the trip approaches. Comfortable shoes are essential, as there will be plenty of walking. Women must cover knees and shoulders when visiting holy sites. Israel in October typically has warm, sunny days and cooler evenings, with daytime highs in the mid-70s to low 80s and nighttime lows in the 60s.

ACTIVITY LEVEL

You can expect to walk two to three miles per day. Terrain may include steps and uneven areas. Most walks are light to moderately strenuous with breaks throughout the day. Some sites may be challenging for those with mobility limitations.

SAFETY

Israel is a very safe place to tour. Your safety is a priority and multiple measures are in place to support a secure and comfortable experience. Guests are encouraged to use normal precautions when traveling internationally.

DRINKING WATER

Tap water in Israel is safe. Bottled water will be available on the buses.

WI-FI

Most buses and many hotels offer free Wi-Fi. Some hotels may charge for access. Many restaurants and cafés offer complimentary Wi-Fi as well.

CELLULAR SERVICE

Contact your mobile provider to determine whether you need an international plan. WhatsApp is widely used in Israel, and we recommend downloading the app and creating an account in advance.

CREDIT CARDS

Most hotels, restaurants, and shops accept American Express, MasterCard, and Visa. U.S. dollars are accepted in some places, though change may not always be given, so bringing $1 bills is helpful. ATMs are available for withdrawing shekels.

POWER ADAPTERS

Israel uses 220V electrical outlets with three prongs, though most European two-prong adapters also work. Bring a converter and adapter for your devices. Hotels provide hairdryers and shaver sockets.
